Gone Flat

Around this time of year, there are a lot of people concerned with whether something’s going to rise or whether it’s going to stay flat. You’ve got the Christians who are celebrating Easter, all about how Jesus rose from the dead, and you’ve got the Jews observing Passover – which involves not eating anything leavened, so anything that rises – biscuits, cakes, you name it – is right out. Given the season, it makes sense to think about tyres, because (even during Passover), it’s important that your tyres stay properly inflated and don’t go flat. The big question is, how do you make sure that your tyres have enough pressure?

Well, the old-fashioned way of doing things is just by hand. Every so often, you manually check your tyre pressure, and if it’s too low, then you pump your tyres back up. The problem with that is that, well, it’s old-fashioned. In the busy pace of modern life, it’s tough to find time to do that, even with a long weekend, and it’s all-too-easy to forget about it until it’s too late. So fortunately, modern technology offers an alternative: The tyre pressure monitoring system.

Also known as a TPMS, this handy device uses automated tyre sensors to measure the pressure levels inside your tyres. If they drop too low, a light will alert you that you need to pump up your tyres. Thanks to the system, you can save time you would otherwise spend checking your tyres and use it for more important things – like spending holidays with family.
