Driving Without A Fuel Gauge

stt28.4

Imagine driving without a fuel gauge. You would have know way of knowing how full your tank was until you suddenly ran out petrol, unless you took it to a mechanic to get it checked up, or were constantly refilling it even when you didn’t really need to. Either way, that would be a lot of wasted time, and a lot of wasted money. Fortunately, we don’t live in this weird alternate reality without fuel gauges, and you can tell whether you need more petrol simply by glancing at your dashboard.

The strange thing is that we don’t think “Well, why don’t we have that sort of gauge for other things, too?” Because it’s easy to do that with tyre pressure, but plenty of people don’t and are content with just taking it to the mechanic whether or not the tyres really need a do-up. With a tyre pressure monitoring system, you can know what the pressure levels inside your tyres are like without having to spend all that time and money, thanks to the tyre sensors that get a read of the conditions inside your tyres.

The TPMS isn’t expensive, and it’s so easy to use that a child could do it. But because it’s not yet the norm, many drivers just go about their lives with no idea whether their tyres are at the right pressure or severely underinflated. It doesn’t need to be like that. With the tyre monitor, you don’t need any more guesswork about whether you need to pump up your tyres – an alarm will tell you as soon as it’s necessary and no sooner. That way you can focus your time and money on the more important things in life.
