The Gow’s Outback Adventures – Exmouth

When travelling, often the most memorable places are the ones that are found unexpectedly.    Small little towns, come across by chance, are where you can make lasting memories – Exmouth was one of those places.

Exmouth is a beautiful, remote, coastal town on the North-West tip of WA.  Thankfully we had our Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) fitted to our caravan prior to our trip so we were well prepared for the journey.  We stayed for a week and were so impressed but the two highlights were the amazing experience of swimming with whale sharks and the friendliness of the local people.

The Gow's For a few weeks each year, giant whale sharks come and feast on the coral spawn and coincidently we happened to be there during this time.  We joined a boat tour and donned our wetsuits, flippers, masks and snorkels to watch these gentle giants – it was a mind-blowing experience!

In town, we did the usual – eating, drinking, shopping and driving to explore.   We stopped by a local shop and they informed us of a nearby restaurant hosting a special ten-course degustation menu with paired wines.  How could we say no?!  It was an absolutely divine experience and completely unexpected in a remote outback town.

The distance between towns is long but the scenery along the way is stunning. Make sure you fuel up whenever it is available. We were so glad to have our Safe-T-Tyre TPMS working, giving us peace of mind as we travelled. As we all know, WA is a hot region, so pick your travel time wisely and always remember plenty of water and sunscreen. We travelled in May and the weather was perfect.

When visiting the Northwest, along with the well-known places like Broome, ensure you take time to visit amazing locations like Exmouth – an unexpected treasure.
